Test execution

A test execution is an action where a fully prepared test is run semi-automatically on a crash facility in interaction between the MESSRING CrashSoft3 software and the operator. Depending on the test setup, different crash scenarios can be carried out, e.g. a frontal, side or rear impact, also with different overlaps. In most cases, the test results in the complete destruction of the vehicle under test, whereas in some cases only certain parts of the vehicle are destroyed. So-called crash dummies serve as vehicle occupants.
In addition to occupant protection, the test also covers child safety and pedestrian protection. The effectiveness of the safety systems is examined and assessed using various individual tests. Numerous sensors and high-speed cameras help to achieve this.
